Privacy Policy

Who we are

This policy explains how B//THERE ("we", "us") handles your personal data when you visit bthere.world or join our early-access list. It applies only to this website, not to the B//THERE app itself, which will have its own policy at launch.

B//THERE is run by BTHERE LTD., based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can contact us at info@bthere.world

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the early-access list and the website.

  • Your email address, when you enter it in the early-access form.

  • Technical data collected automatically by our website platform when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. This is mostly gathered through cookies (see Cookies below).

We do not ask for your name, payment details or any sensitive information on this website.

How we use it

Under UK data protection law we need a lawful basis for each use. Ours are:

What we do: Send early-access updates, launch news and invitations to try B//THERE

Data used: Email address

Lawful basis:  Your consent, given when you submit the form

What we do: Run, secure and improve the website

Data used: Technical data

Lawful basis: Our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and safe

What we do: Understand how many people visit and which pages they view

Data used: Technical data from analytics cookies

Lawful basis: Your consent, given through the cookie banner

We will not send you marketing about anything other than B//THERE, and we never sell or rent your data.

Who we share it with

We only share your data with service providers who help us run the website and the mailing list. They process it on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.

  • Wix.com: hosts this website and stores form submissions.

  • Wix Email Marketing: sends our update emails.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid request from a court or regulator.

Where it is stored and for how long

International transfers. Our providers may store data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, they protect it with safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Retention. We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Then we delete it. Technical data is kept for no longer than 26 months by our analytics provider.

Security. Your data is held by our providers on secure, access-controlled systems. Only we can access the early-access list.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use two kinds:

  • Essential cookies, set by our website platform so the site loads, stays secure and remembers your cookie choice. These are always on.

  • Analytics cookies, which count visits and show which pages are popular. These are only used if you accept them in the cookie banner.

You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer, or block cookies in your browser settings.

Your rights

Unsubscribe anytime with the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing us. We will stop emailing you straight away.

Under UK data protection law you also have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you

  • have inaccurate data corrected

  • have your data deleted

  • restrict or object to how we use it

  • receive your data in a portable format

  • withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it)

To use any of these rights, email info@bthere.world. We will reply within one month and will not charge a fee.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Children

B//THERE is not aimed at children. You must be 18 or over to join the early-access list. If we learn we have collected data from someone under that age, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as B//THERE grows. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will tell people on the early-access list by email.
